You lucked out cause mg42's don't have trunions. It does look like you're missing the camming piece though. ;) I beat Bil to it again.

Was going to compliment you on getting the kit, but man, she looks pretty rough  ! Front end looks as if a monkey cut it, but the rear camming section is "usual", and about the same as mine. Good luck on the build, be sure to document it fully  .

Make sure those chowder-heads send you a matching camming piece, it is not just about having the two parts, they have to fit together.

If they do not have any, and thus cannot send you one, try to at least get some store credit because a good Yugo M53 camming piece can range from $45-$85, and a naturally German WW2 one even more. They are charging through the nose for these last parts kits, they sure as hell ought to make sure the "parts" are in the "Parts kit."

Good luck, all and all for this generation of parts kits she looks good.

yeah thats what i was thinking if they didnt have any to get a store credit. She needs some more clean up and refinishing , i guess this is what to expect for the last kits.

Seems as if alot of the parts are mix matched as far as numbers go, the rails are s113-xxxx
top cover-11230 w/ yugo crest
barrel-1396c then a scratched in B34056
recoup-s-s113-xxxxx
butt-s113-xxxxx
trigger is s114/hammer is s113

alot of the small parts are either s114or113 and then alot have the engraved in numbers. Is this normal for these kits ?

after the 114 or 113 alot start 233xx is this almost matching ?

Yugo kits are VERY common to have non-matching-numbers. Heck, my "Yugo" kit is also part german ww2, i got a couple WaA parts, like that camming thing that the top cover attaches to., no WaA on my bolt, but both the head and carrier i believe to be wartime-era because of certain features on them, same situation for my Feed tray.

You will be amazed how many german parts you just might find in your parts kit, especially because you know it is not numbers matching, so there is a good chance you got some more "expensive" german items in it.

The way these things have been treated for the last 60 or so years,it is a wonder any parts have matching numbers! Except the camming piece,of course! ---bil

well finally received the package from them today and opened it and only the main half was there , the piece the top cover goes on. I called them immediately and they said Jeff was out so hopefully i will get another replacement , i told them it has to be a mtached set. Hopefully this time they will remember.

I have had good luck with Apex in the past however keep on them and please let us know if they cure this.

To be honest, I am NO WAY an expert but marrying up Yugo camming pieces seems easier than trying to work with the German ones perhaps due to the many German facilities?

Hopefully they can send you the little piece and it will fit rather than making you send the big piece back.
