In a recent thread I attached some pictures of what I believed to be a german gauge for a piece of artillery. Now with the help of the internet and a friend in New Zealand who asked a friend in Finland we have an answer. Thank you Reino for the photo, it makes it so much clearer.
The piece I was unsure about although I had a feeling it was for an 88, turns out to be part of an 88 breach block.
Gauge problem solved.
