Laws in Germany are pretty strict.

Where abouts in W. Germany are you?

The Granatbüchse is a single shot rifle in Germany.
So it's a live weapon, but I don't have ammunition for it.

The banned calibre is 20 mm and more. Every gun below 20 mm calibre is legal in my country.

@noonxnoon: I'm living near Stuttgart, that's in the south of Germany.

Oh yes, it's an interesting field for collecting. Some years ago I have written a book about German rifle grenades and launchers for a museum, but it's sold out now. Maybe I can do an update one day.

Well, in Germany we have very strict rules for owning fullauto-weapons. It's only allowed to have fullautos made before May 1945 (all later guns are "war-weapons"). Also the fullautos already have to be in Germany (and legally of course), it's not allowed to import them. And finally, you have to have a existing big collection of "normal" weapons like carbines and rifles and then you have the chance to get a license for a fullauto weapons as an addition to complete your almost complete collection.

So you will not get too many pics of the same ol' same ol' from my country - haha.

And that's one reason why I thought it would be interesting to research on another field .... like the rifle grenades. Nevertheless I'm also interested in the fullautos and I have some deactivated ones and had helped some authors with photos and documents, but it's nothing to collect in live condition.

I know that there is at least one GrB-39 in the US. I had one for about 5 years and ended up selling to Tom Nelson, author of the series of books on weapons. I sold it to him in aboutn 1973.

Hey, I have a copy of that book: red cover and 152 pages long. The author promised me a German Granatbuchse 39 if I bought a signed copy of his book. I bought the book but never got my launcher. You just can't trust those guys released from Gitmo
