My Early Dated MG42

Pics of my early "B" Block CRA dated MG42. It does not have the early slab handle and being an early 1943 dont know if it would of had one?
Has an matching early maget stamped WaA buffer and war time bolt with bpr stamped feed levers ect.
It has a german bakelite butt BUT its a post war one.
Has a unmarked flash hider/recoil booster but would like to find a WaA 11 marked if poss as well as bakelite WaA 11 buttstock.
It is deactivated but done nicely leaveing rollers in place. Barrel was put in a lathe and a short 2mm deep channel cut in underside of it then barrel re-fitted to barrel reciver before being welded into place ( only welded at breach end ) barrel cant be re-moved with this method of deactiveing but it does allow the rollers to remain in bolt and move freely and lock into barrel breach head like they were designed to do if it was a live weapon. This MG can still be dry fired.

Thanks for for comments MP44. I know in certain states in US live arms can be fired, I would love to feel the movements and experience the smells and noise of a live MG42 fireing in anger.
Not easy to find genuine war time marked parts now, Internet gives you access to the world but still none for sale... yet. Nice to hear you have a early CRA. Let me know if you get it back into a working BUZZ SAW

Sorry about that, the mind drifted and I said PJ when I should have said "brp". That's a nice "brp" stamping in the center. We don't see that on a lot on the mg42's in this area because that's normally the area where they torch and cut out. Of course that area gets re-welded in the rebuild but it's now missing the "brp" or "PJ" hallmark.

Becomeing harder to find genuine war time MG42s of any kind now. Dam shame.

It is difficult to get gun parts shipped from the USA because the powers that be have deemed it naughty . That's the powers that be on both sides of the pond.

Try Egun but it may take a while for the parts you want to turn up. Easier to get parts delivered from Germany too.
