Very Nice. My MG42 S/N is 31XXi. Must have been assembled around the same time. I have the same stock as well.

On your rear anti aircraft sight try the following. Works for me at any rate. Get a flat blade screw driver, with the blade about 1/2inch wide, about 1/8 thick. Push the button and raise the rear sight ladder and from the front side insert the blade and slowly twist screwdriver trying to straighten up the ladder. Slow, easy small amounts at a time and with luck and some skill you should be able to straighten out the rear sight. I've done this on several so I know that this works. Of course the results that you receive may be different than etc etc.
As I stated in an above post, LOOKS NICE.

So it might be an all originale MG42. It has seen some use, but all parts bear the same amount of use/wear.
This is what I was hoping for, but did not dear to belive :D

I have not had any problems with crack or tearing.... That said take it easy. Might want to look first for small cracks that might grow. I have redone about 6 or more no problems so far. With that I have a couple that are torn or broke in the area at the bottom near the hole or pin area. They came that way. Planning to do some tig welding and rework later on those, one of those is of course WaAmped.

Good Luck
