mg34 receiver stud on front of receiver

Post by kevin917z »

Was the stud on the front of the receiver machined at the time of manufacture or was it somehow screwed in? Can it be removed and another installed?

I've handled several MG34 receivers that were cut through the area where they attach into the receiver, it seems like a lot of extra metal to machine away, but they all appear to be machined, or at least they do to me...TNW welds original "studs" from receiver scraps onto their billet machined receivers.... That is why there are so many cut receivers with this section missing! ---bil

Yes,it has to be timed exactly,or it will not work.I would imagine you could make a jig if you have the front with one attached. I think I would machine the pin to be longer, and machine a hole to set it in. ---bil
