You know what you're staring at. A question for you cognocenti out there - what goes into the little cup-shaped item in the bottom of the grip? I've never seen one. On sale on GB now....interesting what people have out there! Phil

The bronze worm gear with the brake shoes that expand as it spins goes in there. Fairly common to see that cup in the grips. Its the other parts that are hard to get! - Matt

Thanks for the reply, Matt. I've never seen one. So it's a tiny brake drum, kind of like a miniature chain-saw clutch powered by a worm-gear shaft? Fascinating! Wish I had it....Phil

never seen the actual drum brake parts but I would think it worked similar to a chainsaw brake. what makes the one in your photo rare is that it still has the selector switch installed. most of that plug in place of it. - matt
