Barrel return plunger

For sale on GB, to fit an MG34. Notice the "mushroom" head. Appears well-used. First time I've seen one that looked like this, doesn't seem like it would fit. Could it be something special, one-off? Different weapon? Do any of you guys recognize it? I added a picture of a regulal one for comparison.... Phil

For a 34S?????? In light of most 34/41, 34S parts being strengthened, that larger head would seem appropriate. Interesting, I don't immediately recognize it.

Interesting....perhaps there's one here in this pile of detritus. Could be a part that Michaelangelo could use for his project? It's for sale on GB at MGspace34......Phil

Hello,

The barrel return plunger was not in the picture of "detritus". It also does not look like the one you have. It doesn't have the cap on the end.

I appreciate that I am getting this help finding parts.

I think the plunger is used with the solid springs used during WWII in the MG-42, not the post war wound springs.
