flash hider soaking can question...
what method do you gentlemen use to easily clean the blast cone and flash hider assembly? I'm looking at flash hider soaking cans to help me out with this, one thing I'd like to know if buying an original can do I need to be careful not to get one for an mg42? are they the same size? any info on this would be outstanding.

Re: flash hider soaking can question...
Wiping the flash hider off with an oily rag and wire brushing the nozzle works for me.
The MG34 soaking can doesn't fit the MG42, and vice versa. 34 cans are much more common, and therefore cheaper than the 42 cans. A complete can will have a leather washer in the bottom and one in the lid. Most will only have the one in the lid, and some won't even have that. They keep things from rattling.
I don't have any extra 42 cans for sale right now, but I think I have one or two 34 cans in a box somewhere.
