i picked this up from a guy locally but thought it was weird there is no date on the rear of the shroud. folkes book puts this serial in the range of a 1937 manufactured gun. I have another 37 but there is the large deep BSW on top of the shroud with the big 1937 date below it. which would be earlier than the picture below. This one has a small bsw on the top rear of shrouds and small bsw's on the little parts of the gun.
Any thoughts as to why there is no date ? the original machining marks are visible with nothing having been ground out.

picture, bsw is above b and below serial number. it hard to photograph but more visible than the picture suggests
