Post by Foobarr »

What's the going prices for a DT mag, winder, and top cover? There's some listed on GB and wondering what they're actually worth.

Thx

DT15 Doppeltrommels $295 at MGS
The trommelhalter was selling for $295 also at MGS, now out of stock.
The winders were being sold by Lambinatrap, I don't remember the price.

Thanks.
I was advised via PM that the DT listed on GB only works with the MG15 and actually won't work with the MG-34. But then the listing shows the DT Halter attached to the the MG-15 DT from the other auction.

I'm confused. I got a 34 parts kit sitting in the garage and have been kicking around getting using the CCard to get semi-auto compliance parts. I sure would be nice to install a DT setup on it.

Then again, I have no ammo for it and will probably just sell the parts kit. What have 34 parts kits been going for lately?

I too am sitting on a few kits.

In my opinion ( the stuff I see for sale now) is cheaper than what it was.
Also the complete kits are not as nice. If they do have the complete receiver its
torch cut beyond any recognition!

All the good stuff (true complete kits that have complete matching receivers stubs)
cannot be seen anymore.

good luck.

First and foremost, if you want to run the double drums on your MG34 you will need a proper topcover and the ones from IMA don't work. They are a neat display piece but they won't actually allow the gun to work properly, at least I've never seen or heard of one that did. The only working topcovers I've seen came out of russia and last I saw they were going for over $2500. This is getting into pretty pricey territory for a semi auto.

Next detail here. The MG15 drums work fine on the MG34's when used with the proper topcover. I have seen a number of guns run with them and the only issue seems to be that there are some odd DT15's out there that won't latch up right. I ran across one that I couldn't get to latch on my MG15 so I swapped it for another that did. It was HASAG marked and dated 41. There is a projection on the back of the mag that has some unknown purpose and it hits the maglatch on the gun. So basically if you cough up the cash for the proper topcover you can use any of the DT15's. In full auto the guns run noticably faster with the drum than they do with belts. I can't imagine there will be any difference in the semi's with the drums. I've heard of a few DT34's but never seen one in person. A friend in europe has a couple and a friend locally had one that he sold recently. He sent me pictures so now I've at least seen one.

Original winders cost a lot. The last one I know of that sold went for over $2K with the loading tray. I picked up a crank type winder from a guy at Knob Creek to load my MG15 mags. Its a geared unit and works great. It has the tray and loader all in one unit. The cost was $350 I think. I saw the unit someone on the board had come up with and it looked like a runner too. I think they used some ratcheting wrenches to make it up. No idea what the cost was on those.

Hope that helps
