Michael….GOOD FIND

That “warehouse” of IMA must be a pretty neat place, what else is hiding in there? Maybe some 08 Maxim parts kits from Turkey (fingers crossed) :D

Well, I bit and ordered a couple. Seems like a heck of a deal with the cams. I will have to save some more $ and ship them off to Project Guns for a re-weld. I wonder how large the "crate" was that they "found" the receivers in?

Project guns what a joke he had MG34 bolt + grip stick for over 4 months, I finally got disgusted with all the excuses and had him return my parts, He sent me my money back ( paid him up front ) and my parts but the grip stick was missing the internal, I had to get replacements from BRP to get my project back on track.

For those that can weld their own correctly, that is certainly impressive, it is a hard receiver to work with even when you know what you are doing.

I am lucky in that my parts were already completed and returned 8)

Everything fit, went together, and functioned, without incident, PERFECT. Obviously Stan and Jorge are busy and they could have easily charged a sh*tload more to do the service they provide. They are spread thin, and it takes time, but when you get your parts back converted and finished you will be grateful that you waited :D

I know nobody is complaining here, but I never miss the chance to heap immense laurels upon Project Guns, what they do for the low prices they charge is simply amazing, even if it takes a while :D

The price on the receivers has jumped to $275 as of today, so they must have been selling very quickly.

I'm sorry to hear someone had an issue with Project Guns, but my personal dealings with them have been great. I had them build my RPD from a kit, and the quality and customer service was absolutely top-notch. Yes, there were delays in the project, but the wait was worth it, and not only did my RPD end up costing @$1,000 less than the list price at Centerfire, it was well tested and runs perfectly.
I am also having Project guns do a reweld for an MG34 receiver, and while that too is taking a little longer than expected, the wait will certainly be worth it. I would much rather have a build take longer and have it work perfectly the first time than have it rushed out the door and not work at all.
I'm not affiliated with Project Guns in any way, but I am a happy customer. There's a reason they're so busy- they do great work.

They wasted 4 months of my time and lost my parts.
GOOD LUCK

Brian, I don't blame you a bit for your disappointment, and I don't doubt your side of the story. It is frustrating when things like this happen, and I'm sure with the long hours and thousands of parts and procedures Stan and Jorge deal with some mistakes are made and there are inevitable delays. I hope your build goes smoothly from here on out and you wind up with an Mg34 you are proud of.

I am sure we are talking apples and oranges here. While Stan/Pirate/Projectguns is taking some time to get up to speed,i for one am not too awfull worried it will get done eventually. As for Conrat, that is another story. He doesn't even bear mentioning in polite company. ---bil

IMO they should not take in additional work and make promises they cannot keep, Especially if they are behind in the work they already have in their shop. ( judging by a couple of posts they are )
I will NEVER pay a gunsmith up front for work to be performed again this was the first and last time.
