"That is fairly common. In 1942 and 1943 when the MG42 was coming into production a lot of the inventory and manufacturing machines of the MG34 were shipped to Brunn. They continued the MG34 program almost exclusivly through the end of the war. I have seen DOT shrouds with many different companies markings on them. "

thats neat. mauser and dot. so did mauser make it and dot assemble it or the other way around? would masuer subcontract for dot? -matt

From what Ryan said, I get that Mauser made it but then when they switched to manufacturing the MG42, inventory that was waiting to be assembled was shipped to Brunn.
