Restored Mg34 feed tray's.
Restored Mg34 feed tray's.
I bought these Mg34 feed tray's that are ground dug from the Stalingrad battlefield. My machinist removed the rust and phosphate finished them, there was extensive rust removal. I have new springs for them, one has a spacer installed for my Mg34 conversion kit. My machinist commented about how hard the steel is on these trays. Anyway, I thought some might find it interesting.

Phosphate is the way to go. I did likewise with two but I blued them and they look worse than when I got them.

Given the low supply of MG34 trays out there glad to hear and see a few are being restored. Way to go.

I certainly feel good about the ones refurbishment for my 7.62x51 conversion. The Russuan selling told me the location of find and the Russian internet sites showed the village as one of the breakthrough areas of the Russian advance. My machinist told me that he found the feed tray with heavy brass rubbing on the left side if the feed tray. They must have dumped weapon in a hole once overrun.

I saw an unused "new in grease" MG34 feed tray sell at Knob Creek for $400. Wow.
