Thanks Bil,

It it marked VOEGEL
KOLN
1940

I am researching that maker's mark. Don't know anything as of yet.

Bil,

this is the real deal!. It's only missing 3 items. The Kaliberzcylinder gauge holder and gauge (Nogo caliber gauge). The MG Kreiskorn (AA spider sight), and the Handschutzer (barrel pad).

also, I am thinking that the name is VOEGELE....that the rivet is covering the E at the end.

I have a pritty good list of box amnufacturers, and just to shed some light:
The maker has been registered with three different types of markings.
FR. & K Voegels Köln-Deutz 1938
Voegels Köln 1939 (also 1940)
ewx 41 and 42 (Franz und Carl Voegels Lederwarenfabrik, Köln)
And it is of course Köln and not Koln!

Pouch is obviously missing the AA-sight and the hot barrel pad, but should be complete apart from that. It does have the holder for the kaliber gauge zylinder in the lid, but these are quite rare since they were only issued in 1940 and early 1941, and later removed!

Ah! thanks!

This helps alot. I was close. It would of taken me a great deal of time to figure out that it was an s and not an e at the end. Thanks!

Someday I will figure out how to get those dots on top of the o. GTS

 What! You forgot how to make UMLAUTS?! *sigh*

Umlauts 101: Open MS Word, hold SHIFT and CTRL and tap the ":" key, then release all the keys and type the letter you want the umlaut added to. Copy the letter (CTRL C) and paste it (CTRL V) into the message editor ito your message. Delete any extra spaces that might have come along for the ride. All done.

And THIS POST DOES NOT NEED PICS, TC....

A hitlet-free tutorial brought to you buy the letter ä.

What planet are all you guys from. The easy way to ge the umlaut is to go to your start button, choose run. Type charmap. In the charmap choose the letter with the umlaut and then choose copy....paste it where needed. The charmap lists all fonts and symbols available for each font type.

Getting back on topic. The contents did change over the years...slightly. You should have a few more muzzle caps and perhaps a spare bolt extractor and spring. I keep these wrapped in a muzzle bag.

If you are using a Mac, the type an umlaut, you press the "alt"/"option" button, while pressing the U key at the same time. Then release and type any letter you want under it. [/u]

Bil!

I will be using this one for my MG34 (not yet built), so I will be looking for an 34 AA sight to help complete this 34 pouch. I will have to contact Wolf.

Now I am onto my quest for an original MG42 gunners pouch and contents. It never ends does it?
