MG 34 mount accessory optics device

Unique Lafette optics device I had not heard of before at Simpson of Illinios. Thought someone might have an interest or know more about this device. Hope I got the URL right

Might well be German WW2 and optics related, but any connection to the MG34/42 is pure nonsense by the seller! What would be the benefit (and you still have to pull the trigger!). More likely for some other optical device from the periode.
