MG34/42 Ammunition BattlePak
MG34/42 Ammunition BattlePak
Looking for information and pictures if possible of the BattlePak ammo case used for the MG34/42. As I understand it there was a metal case holding a fair size cardboard box with a carry/lift strap. Inside this box were smaller 15 round packages of ammo. My question is..how many of the larger cardboard boxes with the carry/lift strap were in this metal box. Any info or pictures or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Those are 300rd Boxes, 20 boxes of 15 rds. They came 3 to a 900 round wooden case, used for all German 8x57 small arms.

I thought there were 5 300 round boxes (20, 15 round boxes in a sleeve) in the wooden box?

I think you are correct. When J&G Sales had the original ammo for sale I did ask them how many were in a case and if they would send the ammo in the original wood crate. Their answer was there was 1500 to a case and no, they did not sell the crates with the ammo.Matt wrote:I thought there were 5 300 round boxes (20, 15 round boxes in a sleeve) in the wooden box?
I bought a "case" anyways and it came as 5 300 round cartons, all 1935 dated from the same lot. The greatest thing about this ammo was it was around $25 for a 300 round carton.
