Just looking to paint up a can here to be an e-tin, but I'm wanting to make sure of the different variants of e-tin paint jobs. I've seen the E-tins for the 08/15 and 08 in the Devil's Paintbrush, with the white stripe around them, and the photo of an e-tin in the MG34/42 book which just shows a block "E" on the top of a 1915 pattern can. Exactly how were the MG34's e-tins marked??? Did they ever have that white stripe on them, like the WWI cans? It's obvious they did that for easy id, the KV can has different stripes painted on it, so you can tell it apart in an instant. What about WWII, and especially early, did the German Heer do that then? I've been looking, but haven't seen much, but the depth of knowledge on this board makes me hope there's more info out there!
Here's what I've got so far, I just painted this one up to match the examples in the Devils paintbrush, I just haven't painted the gun (08/15) on the end yet...
Heres one I own just behind the Mg13, Its marked with the weapons number and has a capital E on the top , colour is equipment dark green like a gasmask tin (ral 6015) the numerals on the side are similar to the ones on the side of the partonecasten 41 alongside the e tin
