I watched it again, its really hard to tell, you're right, it could be an MG15 drum, or an MG34 one. Of course, someone else had posted on here that most of the MG34 drums out there seem to have come from lakes, so....

Really hard to tell,but there was a lot of rusty stuff there.A friend was stationed on Crete back in the 60's,he had some pictures of some of his buddies swimming off a small pier,and coming up with all kinds of German gear,including a bunch of fallshirmjager helmets! He said there was quite a bit of stuff scattered there,all very rusty at that point.The video above may be fresh water,not as corrosive. ---bil
