Transit Cases: wooden vs modern

So I'm contemplating what kind of case I need to house my MG34 when not in my safe, for my other MGs I have 2 pelican 1700 series cases that I interchange for whatever I'm taking on the road, but I'm considering one of these wooden transit cases that I've seen in pictures. Can anyone who uses these give me any advise to this issue? price point wise even the nicest wooden cases I've found are cheaper than yet another huge pelican, and it sure looks good in the wooden case but how does it do when being used as an actual transit case, do they allow for the weapon to move around and rub the finish or anything else I should consider?

The wooden transit cases look really good and are well suited for authenticity and display and work ok for shipping but I've found that without extra padding and some bubble wrap things get rattled around especially on rough roads etc. Personally I use a padded case from Gun Guard that has egg crate type foam padding and it works good but I'd really rather have a Pelican. Sounds like you already have the best thing going!

mggunner34,

IMHO the beauty about the 34 over the 42 in transporting in that it can break down and fit in some really small cases. I use a storm case to move it complete less charging handle to the range and a MP soft case (broken down in two parts) when moving it around otherwise.
