Hello.
Can anybody tell how to tell the diffrence between a war time tripod and a post war tripod? Please let me know.

are you talkin wartime lafette and post war laffete both same in apearance or for post war do you mean the mg3 tripod?
the ww2 lafettte and post ww2 laffete are the same except for paint colors and post reworks have the waffen stamps ground off

The MG42 AA Yoke assembly is different between a WW2 and a postwar.But the postwar is about 80% identical to the WW2.The Yugoslavians made an exact copy of the WW2 MG42 AA Yoke assembly(The Yoke that is used as an AA extension on the Lafette rework).The Yugo MG42 AA Yoke will fit on the WW2 AA MG34 Dreifuss tripod that I have.

There are a few more differences. The area between the brackets is cut like a V so the MG42 piece can spin around without hitting metal. Also the button for releasing the bracket is not shaped right and in the wrong location (too far down). Reproduction of original below:
