MG34 Leather Prewar battery boxes, rare?

Post by ChrisPCook »

What's a good price to pay for a prewar leather battery box? Are these rare or fairly common, seems like I see a lot of the metal ones, but not many of the leather? Chris...

Five to six months ago, I saw them several times on ebay. In December I bought one for $108 on ebay, obviously without cables for that price. Marked 1937 or 38 and Carl Zeiss Jena. They seem to be around so I would not call them rare, but less often than the metal ones.

All correct. The going rate on ebay is 100-120,- for a leather box. But no need to buy the battery box if you haven't allready got the cable....they do not come along alone anymore!
