I saw this auction and was a little bit suprised. For $325 you can get a new MG34 barrel that is not chambered, not blued, and does not come with the barrel extension. I bought 2 good original barrels last week for less than that and they are ready for use as is. Maybe in a few year when all of the good surplus barrels are dried up this will be a good deal but for now? I think it is great that folks are out there making new parts for the 34 that will be a huge help because the spare parts are not unlimited. However I think this gentlemen might get a little discouraged at the lack of orders on this item because of the price. Maybe I'm way off here but what do you guys think.

Brand New MG34 barrels on Gunbroker
Re: Brand New MG34 barrels on Gunbroker
I firmly agree with you, I think it's great someone's interested in making new barrels, but I got several good ones (leftover WWII ones, but good ones) for that money. I do think he'll sell some, though, especially as the outbreak of semi-auto ones will probably soak up many of the available parts pretty quick. Also, I would think if you're building what's really a semi-auto rifle anyway, you might want a really accurate and new barrel with it anyway?
