I have been cleaning the paint off of the lafette frame and found a makers code " eat" . The code on the cradle is ecy and the date 1943. Is this normal or were two different lafettes combined to make one good one.
Thanks for the help.

Hi thier,
I would say quite possible that two had been combined , however i would not get stressed about it because they are surely german ww2 production. If it happend during the conflict who is to say, but the actuall job of the waffen miester was to do that sort of thing with weapons or ancilliaries to ensure maximium holdings at the front rather than sending back to third or even fourth line repair. Only no hopers were returned to factory.
Could have been worse .....half german half yugo ..
regards
Tim

Thanks for the reply. I did PM Ryan, and he said the same thing. He said you rarely find lafettes that are a complete match as far as manufacterers are concerned. It's good to know that they are both german and from around the same time period. I believe ecy and eat are both mid-late war lafette makers.
