Fair price to pay for an Original "Butz" Manual

Post by ChrisPCook »

What's the average going price for a Butz manual for the 34, original German in average/above average condition. Seems like the ebay prices are ridiculous on the few that I've seen. Chris...

$100 and up, depending on condition and year. The very early Butz manuals are more, and the 1943 and 1944 editions are more because they contain the MG42 as well as the MG34.

Other manuals that are less common are more. An original HDv 241 for the MG42 went for over $700 a few months ago on ebay. A German manual for a tracked howitzer was over $800.

All the German manuals are expensive. They're more scarce than the actual guns, and often in fair to poor condition. I've had several that I bid over $400, but I was usually outbid and didn't have to worry about paying that much. $150 to $200 seems about average for most of them. The original expense of buying the manual is the main reason my translations aren't cheaper.

Man alive for $700 that manual should arrive with a hot Fraulein to translate it for me and bring me cold beers. :D

I will stick with jbaum’s translated versions, especially should ever I procure that tracked artillery piece needing that $800 manual
