Ordnance Tan Paint

Post by Abwehr »

Guys,

As I posted in another Thread, I am in the process of painting my Lafette in Ordnance Tan color. After trying to find the correct "shade" with help from you guys, I had a quart made up at the local Home Depot, but I did find some Spray Paint on E-bay that was "supposed" to be the correct shade so I decided to try a can. This was $10.50 per can (yea, expensive I thought too), but I thought 1 can can't hurt.

I received the paint and using it this weekend, it has REALLY impressed me in quality! I don't know what kind of paint, but after drying overnite, it appears to be a tough finish. The can I received is going to be VERY close in quantity for finishing up the Lafette, but I should make it OK.

I thought I would let you know that the paint is good, easy to use and convienient. The dealer's name on e-bay is "sedlakin". Here is a link to his e-bay store in case you want to take a look: http://stores.ebay.com/REENACTORS-SURPL ... viewQQtZkm

The paint is highly recommened!

My cost to have mixed at a local parts store is $15.00 per can, so this is not high priced.

Ron,

Is the $15 for a quart or a pressurized can? I sure would like to get the mixture breakdown if yours is the correct color! I would have it made up locally and use my little spray gun. This would be cheaper than $10.50 for the spray can I have.
