Was the MG.42 ever mounted in the Kubelwagen? If anyone has pictures that would be great. I know the MG.34 was and there was even a rear-facing mount for those too.

The mounting hardware is pretty much universal, just change the adapter. The same example comes into play with motorcycles. You would see mostly MG34s and sometimes a Mg13/15. I have seen 1 photo out of thousands that had a MG42 mounted on a FJ Bmw R75 or Zundapp KS750. So was it done? quite possibly.
