I took apart my yugo top cover a couple of weeks ago to give it a good cleaning inckuding the top cover latch. Went t reassemble it and can't find the soring fir the cover latch. Went online ti see if anyone had one and struck out at brp, sarco, robertrtb none showed any and at gunparts corp they showed out of stock. Guess I'm curious if there is a dealer that might have one or a alternative that will work.

Re: spring for the top cover latch grew legs
If you can't find one on ebay, you might try a good hardware store with a spring assortment.
Dimensions as listed in the MG42 manual D166/1:
Outside diameter: 4.5 mm
Wire diameter: 0.7 mm
Overall length: 21 mm
