And belts. IF they have another hi-cap magazine ban, then already having a batch of 50-round belts would be awfully handy. A tripod IS a nice feature to have, but the gun isn't going to shoot too easy without belts- even IF you have ammo!

Lets think outside of the box here. Russia is in bombing range of the US, if they pull a stunt and wage war with /invade you guys, what will your government do about gun laws? Could it be possible that they would confiscate guns from civilians such as in the time of a natural disaster? Or would they change laws around making it harder for civilians to own guns, and parts to make guns? Or would companies jack up their prices due to propaganda or paranoia?

Too many other factors involved currently, I think you'd be best off with the gun, a couple belts, and a large box of ammo 8) . If you risk waiting, who knows what laws could be made, or what things could happen.

I'm not too worried about the Russians invading,if they wanted too they would have a long time ago.But the seeming threat could cause any of the other things to happen.I thing you should insert the word 'TRY' in your sentence,as in'they would TRY to confiscate weapons'. As for myself,in the event of any such natural or man-made disaster,I will declare myself 'The Peoples Republic of Bil',as set up my border defences!

+1 8) They could pry them out of my cold dead hands
But i think i would set my bunker up on are land, with the MG in place, but i disagree here Bil, the MG is good for that but, you need to make it to costly for the government to bother with you and start gorilla actions against them.

That happens when they cross my border-I haven't marked it too clearly, but I like a lot of space-some of them are already in my space and would be asked to leave-politely, :D of course!! ---bil

 , and just how big is this "space" you claim to be the leader of! (PS, save me a lot, i might have to join your brigade down there).
Lol, russians invading the US directly, maybe not... But if they were to do anything, you can count on them landing in Canada, cutting off your gas from up north, then uh oh  . Not exactly like our vast army can do to much.

Eh, but worst comes to worst, we've always got 'The Peoples Republic of Bil' to migrate to 8) .

Just remember Bil, you need to put up a big enough fight so they dont squad rush you but not big as there is no defense to a cruise missile into your "space"

OK for an update i have recieved my wise lite arms M53. I took it out shooting and after trying a belt of yugo ammo i had some dented primers and some went off, this oi figure is the fact that i may need the heavy ar spring/hammer for that ammo, but then i tried my two belts of romanian ammo, and that went off flawlessly. Very fun. But now my i have two questions, now that i have it back at the house and am cleaning it, i have came across two issues with it.
1. One has anyone ever had a problem were the front rivet on the front sight has fallen out, im not sure how this would have happened. But it is no longer there i noticed that first when i had to take the flash hider off that the lever was not tight and then i noticed that little rivet thing was not in its home?
2. This may seem stupid but how do you get the grip stick off, it completely dissamled asside from that. I have the rear pin out and i even took the grips on the side off to see if i missed something and it doesnt appear to be welded to the reciever, but thought i would ask before i start banging and prying too hard on it?

I’ve only ran Romy in my M53 and so far and it has ran great with it also. Doesn’t surprise me that you had some problems though with the yugo 8mm as it’s known for hard primers and even some folks with mausers have reported similar experiences with it.

On the front sight pin, I haven’t had that problem. My guess would be was just a loose fitting pin/rivet. I’d contact WLA and I’m sure they will get a replacement pin out to you.

On your grip stick, first remove the pins (there are actually 2), use a small driver or drill bit to drive the inner one out, then drive out the outer pin (hollow) that the inner pin was in. Once that’s out, use a rubber mallet and tap the grip stick forward. The grip stick holds itself to the front opening. It has sort of hook shape or ledge around the receiver’s opening so you do not want to pry up on it till it’s clear. Take a look on the inside from the top to see what I mean.

Mine was a tight fit the first time off. Just tap it straight forward then after it clears pull it up and out. It had me puzzled for a while to the first time too.

I think it was the 50's yugo that had the hard primers. The newer stuff is suppose to be good.

Yugoslavian ammo on stripper clips will not function relialibily in the M53 regardless of date of manufacture. It was manufactured for the bolt rifles only.

Yeah the yugo stuff im using is 53 and 55 dated, i havent used any of the stipper clip stuff as that is for my k98, and pritty sure none of the ammo i have used has been teh sniper stuff either. Ill just make it my intent to only purchase romanian or later later dated yugo then. But i know alot of the stuff from the 80s is the higher grained sniper stuff wether it be on stripper or not and i have read ot to use that in these guns.

Congrats on your purchase, Man-am-boden ! :cheer:

I ran Yugo through my gun this past weekend with only 1 jam ~ shell casing got stuck in the bolt track (under the bolt).......after clearing it fired & cycled easily without a hitch.
