Hi I am new to the site, and have a question I hope someone can help me with.

I recently purchased a Yugo M53/ Mg42 and also purchased all the parts required to convert to 7.62 nato. My problem is the 308 feed cover catch will not clear the rear of the gun. I would like to get this resolved as I have multiple 7.62 guns I like the caliber and like buying one caliber in bulk. pls Help if you can

Thank you

"cover catch will not clear the rear of the gun"

What does that mean, exactly? The cover won't close?

right. when you try to close the feed cover the spring loaded catch that locks the feed cover in place, will not go back far enough for the cover to fully close.

i think on the mg3 top cover you will need to retract the bolt/carrier to the rear then close the top cover----the "roller" on top of the carrier needs to fit into the rail inside of the top cover
hope this helps

Ok I now know what the problem is see photo 1 the feed cover release on the mg3 is longer than m53 so wont clear the receiver opneing photo 2. I found if I switch the mg3 for the m53 it does work but need to mill a few thou from screw hole to get a better hold as it's shorter. i added a couple of general photos as well. I love this gun.
