Crank for semi-auto MG42/M53?

Post by CajunMG42 »

I am new to this and will receive my semi-auto MG42/M53 at the end of the month. Has anyone adapted a crank-fire type device to a semi-auto MG42/M53?

What about adapting one to one of the post-war tripods?

Thank you in advance for your patience in answering this newby question!

The tripods fit & you could always try a BMF activator on it

Technically, all you should really need is a 4 lobe paintball gun crank, to attach directly onto the gun. No brand in specific, as these cranks are generic, and basically "1 will fit most". They fit into the trigger guard, and every crank will make contact with the trigger 4 times supposedly. As long as it is big enough for the trigger pull, you should be fine.

Thats exactly the same as a BMF activator

I put my MG42 in a tripod and used the remote control lever to fire it. I got it to bouche in my hand and it fired like an automatic.

Yea I have seen several videos of guy's doing just that thats why I just bought a Mount from IO I have a Tripod already but had to see how it works on the Mounts they are selling I'll give a report as soon as it arrives only $199.00 it cant be all that bad

I have a ruger 10/22 with one of those mg42 plastic bodies on it & I attached one of those BMF activators on it it shoots just like a MG with that little crank on it

But I think with the mount from IO I will be able to get my SA42 to crank out some rounds real fast :nana:

If you have a tripod you dont need anything. i can bump fire mine like an automatic by simply pulling the lever90% of the way.

I know this is an older post but I just found it and was thinking of trying a crank on my semi 42. Did you get a crank and try it out? If so did it work well?

Thanks
