Hi All!
Need quick advise here...Is it legal to ship a MG42 kit with some semi mods (such as gripstick cut out longer on receiver to preclude an unmodified grip stick to be mounted plus bolt mods as well) to Pa?
Please advise!
Willard Out!

Pennsylvania is a gun friendly state. No problem with a parts kit. No limit on belts or magazine size, etc.

PA is a fantastic state...

no worries about the 42...I just got my 42/53 today...finally got the call...picked it up at my FFL...been stareing at it ever since getting it home!

Need to get a better crate for it...the one it came in isn't a nice home for 'er!

Ok noonxnoon I don't think you should go as far as to say Pa is a fantastic state.I had the misfortune to live in Lancaster for 8 years while I was working off my apprenticeship it was like to quote Andrew Dice Clay "It's like masterbating with a cheese grader, slightly amusing but all in all vey painful".
But I will grant you they are a gun frendly state,a gun show every month. The only thing I really miss was the huge gun shows at the farm show complex.

GLAD TO BE IN PA!

...I was living in NJ for a few years before PA...so again...GLAD TO BE IN PA!

I will also admit to meeting my wife in Pa,but in her defence she is not from Pa.And she loved to go to the gun shows with me,and don't tell her but I do miss Pa some times.

But back to the subject noonxnoon is absolutly correct about shipping to Pa It is a very gun friendly state, sometimes I think it was to friendly.Example to get your CCW permit all you do is fill out paper work wait no less than two weeks when you ge your reply go get your picture taken pay a small fee and walk out with your CCW card.It was harder to get my armed carry permit for work in that state.

But as long as the receiver is not in one piece you can mail it strait to them,if it is you'll need to send it to a FFL dealer and they'll have to pick it up from them.I hoped the info helps you out with your shipping question, and sorry for getting off subject I have some issues when it comes to Pa. :?

You will have no trouble sending a parts kit to Pa. As long as it is in pieces you're ok. Only firearms have to be sent to a FFL dealer for transfer. Parts kits aren't firearms.
I don't know why some of you guys have a problem with Pa. It's a very gun friendly state. Not a lot of stupid laws like some other states I could name. Only problem is the clowns in the legislature. Fat Rendell being the most obvious. I'll be glad to see him go next year.
I was born in Lancaster and raised in Lancaster Co. I agree it has changed for the worst since I was a kid. It's a cultural thing involving tribalism and drugs. Get out of the city and it's very different.
BTW, hi bil and rocco. Thought I'd pop over here and see what was going on. Been a while.
