Need advice on this belt loader

Post by Claven2 »

I've been offered this twin hopper belt loader, purportedly a Model 41 loader that loads two rounds at a time into the belt. Seller thinks it's post-war, 8mm and he thought made by BMW (?) if that's possible? Still in cosmolene.

Asking price is $400. Is this a reasonable deal? Is it a good loader? Anyone ever heard of these being made post-war in Germany in 8mm?

400 for an 8mm loader is standard for the yugo loaders that were selling last year.
If it's WW2, then you're really getting a steal. Bavarian motor works probably did
not make it :-P , Maybe Bpr ? Can you see the mark clearly in the pic?

Its a gurtfuller 41 or possibly a post war copy of one .
it apears to be missing a spring to raise the pedal back up but it could be just bad picture. I don't know much about them but i believe i have seen them sell for over 400 and you don't see them much in the states.

I'd roll the dice and take my chances , even if it was a reproduction or post war you shouldn't have much trouble reselling it , maybe at a small loss .

sorry i couldn't be more help.
"good , bad, .....I'm the man with the gun."

Its amazing anything works right around here with a bunch of
over-age juvenile delinquents running the place.
