Search fire device for 34 lafette

I have a ecy 43 dated 34 lafette, and on the search fire device it have the makers code of cql and below that is R.E. Is this a date code?

No, cql is another maker's mark. The search fire units were made at seperate factories and were marked differently than the rest of the tripod. This is normal.

DA, you didn't answer his question. He clearly stated that the cql was the makers mark. I believe he was asking if the R.E. was the date code. :?

I don't believe the R.E. is the date code. I think it stands for Royal England.... :mrgreen:
Just kidding. It probably is the city or something like that.

I believe it stands for Ringtail Eisenstat.
