Panzer barrel shroud accessories

Post by anjongni »

Now that I have a bare panzer shroud, I join the quest for the accessories. They seem to be very rare and dear!
I have purchased Brian's (BRP) two-disc CD collection of photos of MG34s he's owned. If you haven't got it yet, it's a treasure-trove of mg34 delight. His panzer shroud #9411 has the following goodies clamped to it:
1. Clamp-on front sight/bipod mount
2. Clamp-on AA spider sight mount
3. Slip-on ring type sling mount
4. Temporary pointed thing that holds the bipod folded up
I've never seen all these items on one shroud. Of course, as a mere mortal, I'll never be able to find this stuff. So I'll have to make 'em. My questions are: Does anyone possess any of these items? Can you post photos of them (next to a ruler)? There are good pics of the bipod/front sight mount here on the site, but no dimensions of any kind.
Did these items come in a kit kept inside the tank for "external use"? If anyone has info on these items, it would be you members here! Any help appreciated...thanks Phil

There was a metal box that held the parts, including a buttstock which wasn't used inside the tank. It was kept in the tank for when the MG34 was taken out of the mount for outside use. The box is collectible too. Last decent one I saw went for $400 - empty.

Thanks for the info, John. I can imagine how few of these made it out of the tank when it was abandoned/destroyed. No wonder they're so rare!
