What do you think to my MG34?
What do you think to my MG34?
Hello there,
I was just wondering what are your opinions on my new 1940 dated MG34? It is 936 (Suhl?) maker and Waffenampt 4 stamped. Number is 7578 and has many matching numbers around the gun. Deactivated in 2006, but has many moving parts, and can be partially stripped. It has a black Bakelite butt-stock and it came with a black 50 round drum. Below are some of the pictures of the MG34, enjoy!
Also if anyone would like any more pictures of anything, just ask and I'll do my best for you. Patty

Very nice! Great markings, superb bakelite stock. Is the ammo belt inverted?

Hello everyone,
Thank you for the replies so far, and yes the the belt is the wrong way around (my mistake).
Thanks, and please keep the replies coming in

Very nice!! And the makers code is also not the most common, looks like a superb MG34.
Do not sell this. May I ask what the prize was?

Excellent '34, as I have said many times that is art. How "impressionist" paintings that have the look of a painting that was left in a car during a hot summer day bring $20-$100 million at auction is beyond me, give me a '34 any day

Well Thanks for the updated pics and the link. Sorry to hear about the strap, But the AA sight looks nice.
Good Luck with everything and I guess that you did get it at a good price.

Re: What do you think to my MG34?
Try http://www.bergflak.com/sale.html , I bought 5 slings from him a while back one for each of my MP40, MP44, mg34, mg43 and k98. Original slings are not cheap and they can be difficult to get. I bought my first "original" k98 sling from World Wide Arms, it wasn't and was a waste of £36. The replacements I bought from Bergflak averaged about £100 each. Be wary of nice clear markings on slings because, unless they have never been used, they will be very indistinct after use and time. Bergflak is a respected member of this forum so you have no worries buying from him, assuming he has some slings in stock.
Nice Mg34 by the way. I bought mine from a fellow UK member a few years ago and it is a pre 95 old spec.
