Tom,
Man, you are lucky to have your own land to shoot on; I don't have that luxury anymore! I do have a public range about 30 minuites from my house and I can shoot my MG42 and 1919 anytime during the daylight hours. The only problem is it is a 100 yd range. I don't complain because at least it is there.
Both these guns do have an appeal to most of the guys, and ladies, that are there. But, it is embarassing when the gun does not perform 100%, LOL!!!!

for now it is good but they are building all around me so it won't last and local corruption is high the land behind and both sides down back is wet lands and unpercable and the mayor owns it so of corse he is allowed to build on it services suck and they just changed my zoning without notifying me or the neighbors so they can jack up the taxes so I realy need to finish renovations and get out

Great men are born in fire, it is the privilege of lessor men to light the flame, no matter the cost

From my understanding,{Based on my owning all versions} all of the 50 round drums that were made, wether Yugo or German, etc,Are all 8mm.
The .308 version feedtrays do not allow for attaching a drum, this would be the MG-1 version, only 8mm feed trays, wether pre- or post war, work with the 50 round drums.
All MG42 varients were 8mm.MG-1 was .308,and MG-3 is .308.
The MG-3 version uses a .308 feed tray that allows for the attachment of the 120 round assault box and for the platsic Hk 50 round drum.
