Gunners pouch 'Werkzeugtasche' with the belt loops was the later type manufactured for the MG34. The older type MG13 gunners pouch had a shoulder strap instead of the belt loops. In this pouch, you would have found all the necessary items, AA sight, oil can, broken shell extractor, etc. At the end of the war with the shortage of leather, gunners kits were made from a material that was a compressed, heavy duty type of card. Easy to manufacture and very cheat, this was known as ‘Prestoff'.
Therefore, I assume it was used for the MG34 as well, and this is early MG13/34 version. AmIright?
I don't really like the bird on the back. I have only really seen them marked on the front which is only visible by lifting the lid exposing the makers mark.
I would say the price is about right empty. I paid $75 for one in bad shape
