I purchased ebay Item number: 220253246818. I received it today and the over all length is 13" I am curious if this is an MP44 recoil tube or for the mg34 as advertised. I ask because I thought that the Mg34 tubes were longer ie 18.5in. as advertised on germanmilitaria.com
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: MG34 recoil tube Expert needed
Approximately 13" is correct for the MG-34 Spare-Recoil-Spring Carry-Tube for the Spare-Parts-Can.
As a side note.....think about the inside-length of the ammo-cans used to carry their spare-parts..... I do not believe that 18.5" would fit.
NOTE: Their are a lot of quality "reproductions" coming out of Europe these days.....to include markings so be careful buying out there.

Re: MG34 recoil tube Expert needed
www.germanmilitaria.com boy there's a place where you want to hang onto your butt. A kinked MG42 recoil spring only $78.... A recoil booster soaking can only $468. Outrageous prices on most items, with only a few slightly on the high side. I can't blame the guy, though. He has a lot of stuff sold from his listings. There must be an awful lot of people out there with money who have absolutely no idea what they're buying and what it's worth.
Did they ever make an MP44 recoil spring tube? I've never seen nor heard of it. The idea of the tube is to carry the spring in an ammo can, without it being bent up. Therefore, the tube has to be shorter than the can. The tubes for the MG42 are 13" long too, but slightly bigger around than the MG34 tube.
