Dummy Guns/Rewelds
I have a question that may have been covered before, but let's say I want to get a British Bren or a German MG34 and convert it into a dummy gun. What is the least amount of mods that need to be done to make it compliant? I see where some dummy guns basically have all the moving parts attached statically to a one piece dummy receiver. If there is a way to completely "seal off" the FCG from the moving bolt, etc, then is it possible to get a more realistic "dummy gun"? Chris....

There is some thing on this on the BATF web site. As I recall it includes welding the barrel itself closed and welding the bolt to the barrel and/or receiver. The biggest thing is the full auto receiver can not be "reconstructed" as it would still be a machine gun even though the weapon would be "inoperable" due to the other welds. Therefore there was some thing about removeing at least an inch or inch and a half out of the middle of the receiver, depending on the design of the weapon involved.
